Taken from the NZ4wd email list--without permission of course

Hi Guys

Time to dust off the old shitters for the annual Sheffield bog hole event, this is a fund raiser for the Sheffield Volunteer Fire Brigade so well worth supporting.

The Date will be the 24th June or if postponed the 2nd July, I haven't got start times etc but I will put it on the forum when I get them. I believe there is a lot of water too which will be good.

Entry forms available from Falsgrave Auto in Christchurch Ph 366 2374, give Dave a call and get the bits you need to fix the old truck up and we will see you there for a fun day.

Gordy - you could bring some troops down from Wellington and have a shot at winning something, hopefully it wont be foggy!!!!!

Paul
you know the rest

Would be good to get a strong contingint of offroadexpress members there for it. My flatmate up here is a signwriter so I might get him to do up some big ORE banners so you guys could set up a ORE pits area and have a bbq lunch and stuff with pride  If clubs are going to hate ORE then why not rub it in their faces that we can have a good time.!
I reckon I might be down that weekend to.

Yeah we do, yours. Fits the description perfect, lots of body scratchs/small dents, chunky tires, big steel bumpers, grunty V6, always breaking down requiring a pit crew, lots of spares carried, mobile tool kit to boot  If you didnt enter I would be dissapointed. The last event could of been done in 2wd most of it!

Entry forms out latter in week, understand the classes to be the same as other years :
MODIFIED : Max---- 33in tyres, one Diff Lock .
OPEN : Tyre size open (no agricultural tyres) , Steering Brakes, Diff
Locks, Roll Cage.
CRASH HELMETS AND SAFTY BELTS TO BE WORN IN BOTH CLASSES.
Not sure of entry fee but other years about $40.00 .
Any members not going to enter make yourselfs avalible for marshalling do far more good for ORE thansitting around pits trying to get up peoples noses. If avalible phone DAVE TAYLOR, FALSGRAVE AUTO SPARES 3662374. ----- We could still have a BQ and refreshments in Pits .
GET DIRTY,
FITZY

Shit Steve, I get called a "cowboy" along with the rest of ORE by some members of my club. Love pulling into club meetings, parking as close to the front as possible with ORE stickers all over it.
As for entering, I thought this was for moded vehicles??? Might call in and see Dave at Falsgrave autos today. If I don't enter, I will assist in the marshalling. Who from ORE wants to assist as I will let him know. We might get some kudos oyut of this.

Well that counts me out :!:
stupid bloody rules, might go up there and get up my Firey m8's about their bloody rules, if they look to the north island recent event;
3 classes,
1. basically up to 32 inch tyres,
2. road legal vehicles, (WOF & REG) but anything goes.
3. Open class

With the Sheffield fire brigade rules, if you have twin diff locks or over 33 inch tyres you gotta have a roll cage :x , and then you'd be up against V8 tube buggies
see my point :?

After reading the latest in this thread this morning I decided to give Dave at Falsgrove a call and inquired why there couldnt be another class for your guys trucks. He quite rightly pointed out that where do you draw the line and how many classes do you run? I suggested that the ability to enter for all trucks must be where the class structure begins from ie. all trucks must be able to enter and then put them in their classes. The only thing stopping you guys entering is the roll cage rule to get into the open, sure you will be against the tube frame V8's but hey you get to enter. He has gone away to talk to the other organiser and fingers crossed the roll cage rule will be relaxed and the following members should be able to enter

hosehustler, leithfield, icedjohhno, supralux, suprasurf and associates, Albundy MUST ENTER, Cromcruiser(would be a good event for scotty to co-pilot) and if my surf was down I would enter

Thanks Mike... a nice pro-active way to approach it... my approach was to throw my fingers in the air and spend the weekend eating pies and drinking beer at the shed

Lucky you were here, eh?
