Then put some wheels on it an went for the 1st test drive on the front coils

Sits a bit wider than it used to

Rear axle back 4-6 inches and carve those guards up. Nows the time to do it while you have still got to weld mounts etc on. Do it once do it right...

Wheel base just looks a little short with those huge donuts.

Looks good though

Well earlyer in the week my chrome nudge bar fell off my truck due to rust  , so saturday was a mish to pick a part , and i manged to find one there and also score it for $5  , so was very pleased at that... also i got my mate to weld some plates to the back of a spare wheel carrier for me to move my spare wheel up, because when ever i used my hook offroad , the tyre was to close and i couldnt get a strop on , so after that i drilled out the holes to make it fit , just to relise that i needed long bolts for it , so on the pick a part mish i also scored some longer bolts , so today i finshed up welding the braket for the spare wheel , then painted that up , while that was drying i put my new nudge bar on , then fitted the new carrier and tyre , and now ready to go :D

Got the girlfriend's Beetle engine back together and breathed a sigh of relief when it fired up and sounded great.

Traced a really annoying rumbly vibration in the 60 series to the nut on the front of the rear diff that holds the flange onto the front of the diff. Tightened it up ( should check the torque really) and now no play, no vibration and it's almost sort of quiet in there. Except the gearbox whine, the bellowing exhaust note and the rattly old 3B that is. :D

Picked up my lovely Schwitzer turbo and nicely modified 3B manifold that I bought in trademe. Tiny bit of play in the shaft so need to make a call on rebuild or just chuck it on.....

Wheelbase is 105" as it sits so only want to push it back a few more inches. An dont want to have to muck around with the fuel tank either.
Ride height will be higher an the guards will recieve some serious adjusting
Rear diffs out now too

Friday fixed truck

Friday night went wheeling

Saturday morn did some more wheeling. Decided that im really not liking this short wheelbase thing and that I need a suckdown winch to stop ending up sideways accross tracks made worse by floppy front suspension

Sunday fixed my cruiser and wound up some people on teh internets

that pretty much sums it up bro.

went there did a couple skids...now i have to replace the crapped out tough dog adjustable panhard bushes in the front that failed...not so tough

the lack of drive time made it a bit boring...and it took me twice as long as most everyone else!! we got beaten by just about everyone!!...i think i got more points than the guy who got taken to hospital...

Yeah drive time was a bit lacking but good event all the same.

thank yourself lucky all you have to do is a bush. I have a branch still stuck in my radiator, my auto trans is hemoraging pink (yes pink not red, over 2l in 2 days) oil, so it s poked (second year in a row manukau has killed that) And i haven't really looked at the truck yet. Oh yeah winch rope is about hlaf the length it was

But hey had a blast and the supercharger has made it so much mre driveable. Huge thanks to Manukau 4x4 club and all the marshells.

More driving time would have been better but other than that it was awesome fun. Our truck is still dirty so will find out if the is any damage once its washed but dont think there is. We will be back next year if its on!
