VSI 50 in Australaia
http://www.4wdaction.com.au/news/43106- ... ban-4wding

You all know how our government LOVE to follow the rest of the world in stupid ideas.

I suggest that you all follow the link send an email to their roads minister before we have to do it here

My Submission based upon the one on the above link

Dear current Roads Minister,
Last year your Government tried to introduce a regulation banning responsible 4WD owners from modifying the height of their vehicles.

Although this regulation targeted street hoons, and or boy racers, it had severe consequences for the 4WD community and it was fiercely opposed.

Since then, 4 Wheelers have faced almost 18 months of uncertainty as your Government has held closed-door meetings and refused to provide them with any updates on the new rules.

They would very much like this uncertainty to end now.

I urge you to publicly rule out any change to the vehicle height regulations in NSW.

I also request that you make an announcement in this vein well before the State election in March 2011, because I will be keenly interested to see what all major parties offer on this issue, and although I do not vote in your country, many New Zealanders travel to Australia to 4 wheel around your very beautiful country and also spend a considerable amount of money in the process.

Kind regards,
<<<your name>>>

The issue is closer to home than you may think! There have been people from NZTA http://www.nzta.govt.nz/ who have been attending those meetings in NSW.
The NZFWDA have been made aware of rumblings within the NZTA on the subject of raised 4x4's and are working with LVVTA http://www.lvvta.org.nz/ to find a compromise for NZ.

In the meantime supporting the Aussies is an excellent idea and the threat to their tourism industry is valid.

Would be nice if they brought VSI 50 into queensland. It would relax the rules a lot here. Stupid restrictions

Yea but people from other countries go over there to go on a 4wd tour, and if the vehicles and good enough to run on the tracks then they will have to stop doing tours which then means that they lose the tourists. so its not only NZ4wdrivers. its people all over the world.
