Hi guys,

I drove up onto some stacked ramps over the weekend and found that I can get the rear tyre to rub on the guard

So, it looks like I will have to go ahead and do the body lift.

Is the 2" set for sale on TM for around $275 the best way to go ?

What did you guys do ? Anyone make up their own blocks ?

Got one of the $275 kits of TM, hopefully it's all as easy as advertised!

Ive heard that 2" means you need a cert.

Best to make up your own to about 47-48mm.

Also it would be cheaper to make your own.

im personally not a fan of body lifts, the extra stress on the mounts can lead to an accident or damage them.

Have you considered a virtual lift instead, ie, chopping guards?

iv got a calmini 3 inch body lift in mine and the guy at vtnz said it would need cert but he said if it was 50mm/2 inch it would be fine so i have just brought the one off trade me for $250 that is the one made from the black blocks and plan to swap them over tomorow if its here
so i can let you know what its like

Thanks for the feedback, yes, generally I would not be a fan of a body lift, but in this case it is really the only sensible way for my wide offset tyres to clear without some serious rear guard cutting.

As far as I've read on the LVV certification guides any body lift requires a cert, but that is not a big deal since I was planning to have my brake modifications, new sized wheels and track width increase certed anyway. These are all things that should technically trigger certification.

FYC - Yes I also bought one from the same guy today, please post some pics and any issues you encounter while fitting the kit, would be awesome to have a heads-up about what I'm in for. I will probably fit mine over the coming weekend.

Check the radiator isnt attached to the body (not sure if they are... ) when you lift or the fan will catch and break on the shroud.

got the lift in today after school it fit well and came with good instructions just make sure you keep cheaking all cables and hoses when you jack the body up
mind you though mine already had the 3 inch one in it so might not be so easy good luck tho

Best advice is to do the unthinkable and read the instructions, then climb underneath and have a look at the underside and then read them again a few times making sure you note all the points in the instructions.

Yeah I know how "unbloke like" reading instructions, but it might save headaches later on (and maybe some cash).

Oh do it on a dead flat surface and take your time.

and maybe post up the instructions as I got my blocks but no instructions. Mine is only 25mm so its not as big a job as some.

Hey guys, got the blocks yesterday, looks like a really nice tidy kit. Will be fitting them this weekend (hopefully) and will post plenty of pics and details for those looking at doing this soon.
