hi again fellas another noob question
i recently put some big horn 32x12.5 15s on my surf.
it was a bit dumb of me not to check the pressure before letting the tyres down when going off road but i'm now not too sure what psi to run them on when driving round town .i have put 46 psi in them but i'm wondering is that too hi or low
also what would be the ideal pressure to drop to for running around the south coast (red rocks) with the idea that i'll cross the odd deep sand beach aswel as sticking to the track ?

Are you running tubes?, I run 30psi on my mudzilla's and 20-10psi offroad, tubeless don't go below 15psi

hahahahahahaha
can of worms here
been discussed many a time
all you can do is get other peoples opinions and decide for yourself
I have an 80 series cruiser 2500kg
run 25 psi on road, 30 if I'm towing rally truck long distance
and have my stauns set at 15psi off road
most folks you will find will run between 12-18psi off road in tubeless tyres and 30-40psi on road
if you run tubes you may be able to go as low as 8psi off road depending on rim width

I run 35 psi on road and 10-18 psi off raod. 35" Kumho's on swb safari. As skid said, can of worms. Why don't you try different pressures to see what's best for your tyre/truck set up. Shit you must be feeling every bump at 46psi

Depends on the tyre, some have mas load/psi at 35psi in which case 46psi would make them look like a balloon, others have max load/psi at 50psi in which case 46psi isn't too far removed from recommended pressure on some late model heavy 4WDs like Patrol, Hilux, Cruiser.

I always ran mine at 34psi then had the tyre man tell me on road I should be running 40psi..
lwb prado on 35.12.5.15 bfg MUDs...
dunno what's correct tho?

thanks guys. suppose i'm more concerned about the on road pressure than the off road as that normally comes down to ride preference. as i use my truck on the road 80% of the time i'm just wondering how to get the best wear out of them . it's says max load is 50psi cold so i guess in around the 40 mark would probably be best. it also says tubeless radial on the sidewall

yup that would be about right too , definitely noticed it's a firmer ride alright . i might come down to 40 and see how she goes.

for a surf i would run them at 30-35psi unless you have it full of heavy gear. 40psi would be max. there is no way your going to get a surf heavy enough to require over 40psi.
i usually run the ute 30 odd empty and 40psi when loaded (1000kg load) 50psi if overloaded

that varies a little bit depending on tires.

To high IMO,
Try stopping in the wet with tight tyres, dam dangerous. I learnt the hard way, I ran them tight to get some sort of road manners but now stick to about 30 on the road - and it stops a lot nicer

Got 37 in mine (SWB Prado - still trying them out at different levels).
A bit hard so will drop to about 35 for a few weeks and then drop to 33 for a few. Once I get a ball park figure I like I will play around in that area and fine tune it.

lowered down to 36 this morning and the ride to work was a lot smoother , might run this for a week and then try a bit lower to see how she runs ...

40psi On Road and Deflaters are set for 15psi off road
Running with tubes.
Could probably drop a few psi on road maybe for most trips except when loaded up with camping gear.
