I have got 1 Samurai Front Rock Assault 4340 Chromoly Axle Shafts and CV's assembly.
Cost is $475 plus freight from Hamilton.

OR would there be any interest in me getting the axles resplined and shortened to suit 413.
Total cost would be about $800 plus freight depending on cost of resplining.


Note, requires 26 spline side gears, don't have any but could get some at approx $100 each, or see below comments from Rock Assault, They also suggest that you don't use larger than 35" tires so they must be pretty strong.


At Low Range there are two things that we know all about, breaking parts and providing HD parts that can't be broken. That is why we carry the Rock Assault Front Axle Kit out of nothing less then 4340 chromoly. Started with a forged 4340 chromoly steel housing, cage, and race then used grade 20 precision ball bearings. We also redesigned the whole birfield with an extended and contoured cage, and relieved the bell so that it allows for increased travel and angularity. High strength rolled splines (not cut, which is the weak point in most shafts). The shaft is a larger diameter than stock, and upgraded from 22 to 26 spline.

Please note, to install these front axle shafts into your Samurai, you will need to run 26 spline side gears in your front differential. This can be done by installing OEM rear side gears, purchasing new ones below or by purchasing a locker that already includes 26 spline side gears. Mini Spools do the same as well.

would these go in to 413 front diff

Hi,
I don't know any details but have been told that they do not, it would be interesting to know the differences are to see if it was possible to adapt.

Anyone know what the differences between Samurai and 413 ??

Samurai axles are approx 50mm longer each side than 413 axles
Easy way to tell is samurais have the large rounded flares and front spring hangers sit outside the chassis rail

Is it only the length of the axles that is different, or are there differences in the splines and CV sizes and lengths.

Just axle length every thing else is the same, would be alot of people interested here and in Aus for 413 ( narrow track) cromo axles /cv's

It's 35mm and all you would have to do is get the spline on one end machined deeper and trim the shaft to length . Really surprised none of you have done it yet , or someone make a run of shafts the correct length and flog them off .

Hi Chris,
That is a little bit cheaper than before, dollar is a bit stronger but not much than before. Its surprising how it all adds up,
purchase cost, CC fee, US freight shipping, GST, customs charges. Still heaps cheaper than if you are buying Longfields.
