got a mate thats cooked his 2lte surf an was thinkn can we use the 2lt engine an just change the injector pump an crank sensor to keep it efi or just put the 2lt in an wire it up ????
its difficult to jerry rig the crank sensor. you can't fit in the normal place because the piston rod doesn't have the bump on it which the sensor picks up. one way is to weld/fit a tang to the front pulley and mount the pickup near it. need to make it adjustable so you can fine tune it.
otherwise just fit the 2LT and wire up the fuel solenoid. not sure what you will need to keep the old ECU working as you will need it for the glows unless you convert to manual system.
