hi all, i'm saving up my money to get my first mod on my daihatsu feroza. does anyone have suggestions on what i should get first? step dad fixed my car today, finally got an alternator that fits, thanks wayne/yeti

Maybe post some pics and let the thread "take on a life of it's own" Seems to work.

haha nice one fakey the guy across the road put a plastic drain pipe and a vacuum cleaner piece as a snorkle on his yellow suk. haha nahh me and wayne/yeti arn't gonna half ass anything on it

what is wrong with plastic drain pipe snorkel???? it works exactly the same as a flash one and it cheap as chips. to many posers out in the 4x4 world. get a bit of kiwi ingenuity going boys.

its me boys 4bee, he was just put off by how neighbour done his bit of plastic snorkel
told him to post up for ideas ,its his so he will be doing it ...

oh please dont do a plastic snorkel.. a bit of kiwi ingenuity for sure, but rough as dogs balls and when ya out and come up against a tree or bank, you'll leave bits of it layin about after its smashed.

put breathers on gearbox and diffs and make a snorkel. that'll preserve things for a bit.. a couple of air fittings and some air line to suit and voila, thats breathers done. snorkel can be a bit harder, but a few rubber bends and some straight pipe is an option, or a piece of rubber tube and ya could make stuff up yaself..

at least ya got the doof doof hummin..

yea nahh but it wont be as strong though, i'd rather go the extra penny and get a stronger one. not posing !!!!!!!

might have to get wayne/yeti to have a look because i don't understand some of that

First thing is to put some tow hooks on it then buy a cpl of good ropes so you can tow ya old man out .... youll get lots of practise for sure

My advice is, go out and wheel it, see what it lacks and work from there. Obviously rated tow hook front are rear are a must. Along with proper recovery gear.

after actually Modifying a Feroza heres what I recommend.



ps heres an old pic of mine and YES thats a PVC snorkel .. lasted the 2 years I owned it and survived many brushes with the bush
Tow hooks first then
put you money into a set of good Muddies no larger than 30's

to put 30's on a Fez you will need to lift it 2 inches
reset springs at the rear and wind the front bars up an inch or so (shave the bump stops) ... then spend your money on a free flow exhaust system, the factory exhaust restricts theses motors like you wouldn't believe (if it whistles or wooshes your cat is blocked ... remove it and fit a coby in it's place)

factory snorkels are impossible to get for Fez's .. so you have PVC or steel, I prefer PVC because of the fact it wipes off on impact, the guards on a fez are pretty thick (and gavenised so little worry about rust) hitting a steel snorkel against a tree WILL damage the inner guard where a plastic one will break and limit the damage to the snorkel. (Ive seen the carnage a steel Snorkel has done to a Feroza when it got hung up on a tree)

thats a cruel joke for us Fez nuts, no factory locker exists for the F300, you want lockers, two options, fit Hilux rear end after a sh*tload of mods or weld it

i got a lsd for sale. think it should fit. i had it in my rugger but had to fit rocky axles cos that is what it is out of. worth doing. it made a good truck even better. pm me if you want it

Just going back to the snorkel issue... Lincoln and I have both used hose from a pool vacuum cleaner, it's strong, flexible and waterproof. Not to mention cheap and/or free. We have plenty leftover too...

There are no factory snorkels but theres a guy in Malysia who is making fibreglass snorkels for perfect fit on a feroza with the Safari Snorkel brand imprinted onto them.

It says 4 available but he is always relisting so I think he can make as many as you want. Quite cheap to for US$170 + shipping.

giday yeti junior you will have a lot of fun with one of these wee beasts and you will surprise a lot of the bigger more serious trucks with where you can go.

i have a factory snorkel yes that is right a factory snorkel off my deceased rocky that i am will to sell, (tell yeti to get the gorse out of his pockets and pm for you i'm willing to drop the price a fair bit pm me about it)

but with the tow hooks i mounted 2 on the front, please dont use the factory one as i severely bent it on one of my outings they are not strong enough. (you have been warned)

i mounted my new hooks inside the chassis rails, i think for memory you need to cut the plate that covers then end out, then i drilled new holes where needed and used grade 12 cap bolts and nylock nuts and heavey washers, i still have all those bits there two if your wanting them lol) i also packed out the gap between the hook and the chassis rail so that when i tightened the bolts up it wouldnt crush the rails.

i had the rear springs reset but with a extra arch put in it and wound the front torsion bars up to match the lift in the rear, trimmed the plastic corners back a wee bit and ran 31x10.5 mud tyres, would get a little guard rub in the front only when things got really rough. be warned though the 31's do make these little wagons struggle a wee bit. i also put standard lenght hilux rear shocks in it which gave it pretty good flex

i also got a set of extractors made as the manifolds on these are prone to cracking and up sized the exhaust system to 2'' and put a performance muffler on it, gave it a wee bit more pep and a nice sound.

i also added a set of rock sliders which saved my door sills far to many times to count.

dont even think about lockers for these things as there are none very few of the f300s came out with limited slips
