Full floater vSemi-floater rear axle?

My mate has a 70 series Cruiser with semi-floater rear axles. He has an opportunity to swap in a full-floater. As far as I can tell, it only makes it easier to swap wheels over with the centre hub. Is it worth the effort?

Makes no difference swapping the wheels over, only difference is its easier to replace wheel bearings and if you break an axle or bust a pinion you can drive home unlike a semi floater

Don't know about the full floaters, but in a 60 series LC with semi floating the bearing runs straight on the axle shaft, not sure if I like that idea or not, but that is what they do.

Fully floater would be the way to go, easyier to change axles, wheel bearings and easyier to put in lsds and lockers. I hate the idea of those circlips inside the diff holding the axles in, I seen a guys axle and wheel assem fall off while driving down the road due to one of the axle circlips falling off inside the diff lol.

Thanx guys - I guess the answer is yes - it's worth the effort - not really a big job anyway...

Swap is done - Anyone want a semi-floater rear end? With 4.1 ratio diff.
