added the 8mm rubber blocks that Suzuki1k so kindly sent me free of charge I might add (good Bastard) to the rear coils on the safari, didn't have any spare donuts for the front so made up a packing ring and slipped it under the original flogged out donut ... my god what a difference, the vibration on acceleration is gone the clunking under my foot has *almost* gone instead of a steel against steel clunk it's now a steel against rubber thunk

and the whole truck has way less rattles and just drives soo nicely now.
doing a oil and filter change as well as we are heading south to the 'Naki, looking at buying a rental investment/winter holiday home around Stratford or Eltham so will be looking at a few properties on our way then onto Wellington to see Bro-in-law next weekend,
Zook can stay broke for the time being

Went out to help set up our club 'fun trial', Broke rear diff! came back to work after setting up to fix.
That's two years in a row I've broken my truck while helping to set up fun trials!
Maybe I'll just walk next year!

The missus is back in Auck to help pack up for the move. Last of the junk food and batchelor dinners was enjoyed last night, now its back to crappy healthy shite.
Not looking forwards to the next few days. I hate packing houses for moves. It always seems like my stuff that gets thrown away.
Checked the cookstrait forecast and there are two to choose from, one flat and calm the other not so good (rough) on the same website - go figure?

Spent the morning putting in new handbrake shoes in the Prado Bus.
The old ones were almost down to the metal.
The new ones are a tight fit

......Had to back off all the adjustments.
They only just get in....
Should have a good handbrake for the next few WOF'S
Only found one place that sells them in NZ.
Otherwise its Toyota original $$$$ or reline them.
Later is put the front bar work back on after a winch clean up and getting ready to fit the plastic rope.
Did you know you can chrome aluminium.

Making an aluminium Hawse fairlead for the plastic rope.
Was going to get it hard anodised.
But my plating man said "Why not hard chrome it" It will last for ages....(wear resistant)
And hey presto, hawse to be hard chromed when I finish polishing it.

Saved a kid from the Arrow River
Went for a drive up the Arrow first crossing was a guy with his kid on motorbike that got drowned, Guy was more concerned about pushing his bike thru the river than tying to keep his kid from drowning I ended up driving up to the bloke and his kid that was in helmet and full body armor that was getting swept away by the swift current and plucked him out of the river.
What kinda father would take his kid thru a swollen river on a motorbike eh?b and be more worried about pushing the bike out than making sure their kid was safe?

There aint too much about that surf that is std. It was built by an engineer who had too much time on his hands, but he made a nice job of it.

Picked up the new Lada today. This one is a 'Fiva', a Niva with a Twin Cam, 2 litre Fiat engine. (Cloggy's conversion for those who know anything about it.) I got it from Stu Good, and it came with HEAPS of spare parts. Not running currently, but will be soon. I will start a build thread soon, with some pics. So, all in all, a pretty productive weekend.

Been going hard out rewiring everything in the mutt over the last week, and couldn't face the soldering iron and blow torch this week end, so I sorted out the coil overs and shock towers. The towers have now been re-done 3 times, but I think they will finally do what I want (well hopefully any ways)
