seeing as you can't have any modified steering components welded I need a new steering shaft to keep the cert man happy

Am I best to get one custom made or can I mix n match bits off something else? 87' lux with surf power steer mod, Im keen to know what others have done that meets the new rule

Also need to have the driveshaft welds checked + shafts balanced

who would you recommend in chch for this?

cheers

Youll need a collapsable section in your new steering shaft. When I put p/steering in my 40 I got 2 sets of LN130 surf steering shafts. Used on of the collapsable ones an the other 2 solid ones an got them splined to fit together

Cant help re where, but you are allowed to mix and match parts. I had shafts from three different gens of hilux to make mine work.

Good luck.
