How much is my Safari worth?

Post by marmel »

Looking at possibly selling my Safari due to nagging wife and doing a bit of a deal with her on other toys I want.

1989 Safari Grandroad LWB high roof. 305,000km.

-factory rear diff lock
-factory rear sway bar disconnect
-large electric sunroof

-Maxxis Buckshot Mudders 33X12.5 (only done 5000km including new spare same trye)
-factory rims blasted and proffessionally painted black with 2 pack etc
-custom front and rear bumpers, painted as above
-Lightforce Blitz 240 X 2 mounted on front bumper, wired in to high beam and switch on dash
-40mm bodylift
-50mm EFS spring lift with longer shocks to suit
-new DSR 430 turbo/manifold just fitted (running 12psi at moment)
-brand new 2.5" mandrel bent exhaust
-boost/egt gauges mounted on dash
-boost tap under bonnet
-rear quarters chopped by panel beater and painted to match
-new Runva 12000lb EWX 24v winch
- new carpet/underlay fitted throughout vehicle

In very good condition. I had some rust removed from rear right corner of roof by a panel beater and painted back to factory colour. Doesn't smoke at all, even under acceleration.

Quite a bit of recovery gear, all new, including high lift, tree protector, shackles, snatch strap etc etc.

I will get some pics up if anyone is keen.

I'd GUESS around 11-13 (Haven't been looking at them much for the las while though). Maybe a bit more, maybe a bit less depending on your service record. Knowing what its worth and finding someone willing to pay that can be difficult but you never know.
Not many people seem to like the high tops, and I'd stay away from sun roofs, but the turbo and diff lock are big draw cards.

If you spend a month watching whats moving and whats not on trademe and you will get a fair idea of whats happening in the market.

If you plan to get back into 4x4ing at some stage I'd keep your recovery gear, spots, winch and maybe even the tyres since they are all new.

P.S. If you want to sell stuff off it (as you never get as good a price if you leave it on) I might be keen on your rear bar

Yeh keep your recovery gear, wish I did. You dont actually get any more in the sale of the truck for the gear. I wouldnt like to say what its worth but the Dealers have massive prices on them and seem to move them on. I payed $5.8 (i think) for mine and sold for $8.6ish, went North Island. New owner said anything with a lift n winch up norths way overpriced and was worth him flying down to buy it. my 2c
