wtd entry level 4x4 4-6k budget

Looking for a reliable entry level 4x4. Something to get me from a-b during the week and adventure/out of town in the weekend.

Pref petrol but open to diesel, must have current wof and reg, bonus if it already had some decent upgrades.

I'm located in Auckland, i don't currently have a vehicle so would have to arrange to meet somewhere around st lukes/mt eden/kingsland areas if possible.

Would like something along the lines of a terrano/safari/hilux or landcrusier but i'm open to anything at this stage.
