Pureora Forest Trip This Weekend.

Post by 32Nitro »

Hi, we are going into Pureora Forest west of Taupo this weekend for a trip, 19th,20th&21st Nov. We have the hut booked. If your keen to join us the following must apply. You need to be a good bastard LOL, have a well set up truck you don't mind a little scratching, good MT tires, reliable vehicle, recovery gear and a winch would be a good idea. Awesome challenging tracks. Cheers Brendon

She can be a bit gnarly in the wet - heaps of steep stuff. But has been dry for awhile so should be heaps of fun.

If my truck was going I'd join ya. :|

I worked at pureora for awhile, and found a new track with my landy... in the native, not the forest tho... hadnt been used for 50-60 years, the trees met in the middle, smashed my wing mirror off and broke a spotlight..
got stuck a couple times, winched out, crossed a 30 metre bog at the end only to find the track completely washed out by a creek, 15 foot near vertical banks on either side, i didnt think i would make it across the bog again (1st time was a fluke?) so i chucked it in low 2nd and crawled down into the creek (15 feet wide with 15 foot banks) and gave it absolute full noise, clawed my way up the other side and onto the track no worries :D
landys always surprise ya... get stuck in a puddle, but make it through the most unebelievable chasm without breaking a sweat......

pureora is an awesome place, wish i could join yas....

say hi to ra and dickyboy 4 me at the doc field centre

dont forget the rifle, plenty of redskins around :)
