Got myself a SWB GQ, now looking to replace bushes and raise the suspension 2" or so.
What brands, etc. do you guys recommend?
Then where do I go to get the stuff?

depending on how deep your pockets are the best bushes to get are genuuwwwiiinnnne nissan rubber ones .. just have to take out a mortgage and sell your first born first. BNT or partsmaster have reasonably priced synthetic rubber (not nothathene) if cash is an issue id recommend synthetic for the lower arm bushes and trailing arms but use real rubber in the panhard rods has the synthetic ones dont last long offroad.

ive just done most of mine ..and it can be a right pr*ck to get the old ones out without a press. ended up having to cut a couple out

If you dont have a press then the absolute easiest way I've found is to burn them out. I've used a portable camp stove to cook the bush, a specialised burn out oven and also my fireplace at home

The rubber will smoke, catch fire, etc etc. Let it do its thing and eventually it will just turn to toast and fall out.

If you don't have a gas cooker spare you can light a little fire outside and sit the end of the arm in there.

if you are lighting a fire outside and have all the bushes.. you could even make it a BIG fire and just throw all the arms on.... get them out in the morning when its cool and drink a few beers round the fire till the bugs get too annoying.

The Mount shop is a good source of rubber bushes. Cheaper than OEM.

I'd be worried about the fire affecting the steel. Even with a slow cool down. Anyone done this and had adverse effects??

Not an issue.

Now I know nothing but I thought it didn't have to get too hot at all. Like a bonfire should be able to achieve the temperature required to alter the metal, esp if its just left in there till the fire dies down or worse if its super hot and you whack in water.

If I didn't have a press, I'd be more inclined to cut em out. All my bushes have been sweet in a press. I just use a hydraulic cobblestone cutter with a piece of steel in place of the blade to do mine.

Ok, so now I know how to get the bushes out...

4WDbits, BNT, Partsmaster and Mount Shop are the places to try. There's more on my to-do list so won't be going to Nissan then.

How about what brand of suspension parts? Or is it just whatever these guys sell is what I should get?
