Caught ferry $260
A framed landrover 360km $50
Stopped in kaikoura because it was getting slower than usual and found an almost seized gearbox (can harldy blame it being 50 years old) ???
Towing a seized bushtruk 360km with a 2.5litre diesel LANDROVER (300tdi) with no problems at all because my TOYOTA is at home broken again..... Priceless

Well once I got back from the NZFWDA northern zone meeting I took the tank out of the zuk, fixed it again, if it doesn't work this time I think I will just get a new one made up out of thicker steel pre made on an angle. and also changed fuel filter, old one was full of shit. so hopefully that sorts the problem of bad fuel delivery over the rough stuff.

Fingers crossed I can get some shocks off another ore member as mine a pretty had it.

Went round the coast for as drive and a dive, got a good bit stuck. Lowered the tyre pressures right down, hit a rock, lost the bead, couldn't jack it up in that position so had to reverse it out over the rock, dented the rim, parked it up, jumped in the water there and got my days catch of paua. Watched the next guy from the water do the same thing I did, returned to the ute and the mrs had flagged another truck down and put some air in the tyres for me - good girl! Why do tyres and rims hate me???

go see bolo and stick some tubes in your tyres, make sure they are heavy duty ones and not those skinny little ones most people stick in, I used to have one of those little $7.98 warehouse compressors behind the seat for emergencies that got me out of trouble a couple of times, would take about 30 mins to get enough air into a simex but it gets you home

the ZOOK LIVES!!!!!!!!!
after quiting on me a couple of weekends ago (the morning of club champs of all days) I left her sitting in the garage until this morning, I went back and re read Heaths old build thread for some clues, Heath .. that intermittent starting fault you had was back, first thought it was fuel pump but cracked the nut on the fuel rail and gas came squirting out, so started looking at the electrical side pulled the ecu out (what a frigging pr*k of a job to get back in) .. no probs there, put battery on charge for 20 minutes and guess what Heath ... bloody thing started (just like your original fault) but then quit 10 seconds later ... decided after an experience with our old honda accord to replace the electronic ignition module/dohicky inside the distributor with my spare one,
first turn of the key and she roared into life ... have had it running for 10 minutes and restarted it 20 odd times .. all looking hopeful that was what the problem was

well that was short lived ... left it for an hour or so and went into town came back and now nothing .. same as before cranks but wont fire ... sigh I give up.
and later on ..................
got back from town .. went out and decided to start ripping the thing apart to try and track down the issue ... cranked it one last time and it fired up

came around the front just in time to see a huge spark jump from the coilpac to the body Bang dead again ... hmmmm replaced the coilpac with a spare and she lives again

this time i took it for a high speed strop across a plowed paddock and no sign of it dying ... looks like the coil had a intermittent dead short as well.
no wonder i prefer diesels ... no frigging electrical issues.
rotated the wheels on the safari and noticed the left front wheel bearing was loose again ... fark thats the 4th time ive had to tighten it up

Went to our club champs today, first time truck has been out of shed since Manukau W/C
Was doing OK, bounced off a rock on bent front control arm

, Anyone got a spare landrover front arm?
Then steering started to lock up just before lunch, busted CV
Home and wash and lt looks like my rear lower link chassis mounts are starting to move (some more)
At least my full of water in need of replacement auto held up

I have one of those 71L supercheap compressors, will easily put a 33" back on its bead ... wait until they have one of their mega sales and get the best one you can get ....
