5" Lift on Trademe

Post by U-BOAT »

Have got a mate interested in this lift kit on trademe

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=59031853.

The guy rekons it went straight into the truck without any other modification. Is this correct?

Am new to the coil stuff as im a hilux man (blasphemy!) but in helping my mate out im going to have to learn. Any help on the subject would be much appreciated

It will bolt in but you will also need adjustable panhard rods, longer brake lines, caster correction either drop boxes, caster plates or drop arms. You may also get vibration caused by the rear drivshaft universal angles, that can be fixed with adjustable top trailing arms, gearbox packers or a combination of both.

Look through the Nissan section there have been posts before about these other nessacary peices

I'd say the guy isn't telling the full story. Never seen that sort of lift in a SWB without needing further mods. Probably realised what it would cost to get it set up properly, and thats why he's selling.

lift kit

Post by U-BOAT »

Thanks for the help guys, my mate has decided to do a 2 or 3 inch suspension lift, then do 2inch a body lift aswell. A 5 inch lift should be able to run 36 simexs or does the front diff need to be moved forward?

Cheers

doddzee should be able to answer this one for you, but I would think at least a 3" suspension as well as the body lift, and maybe guard cutting.
Hope he's running a turbo or v8 to turn them though....

To run 36's with that lift you will probly need to trim the rear of the front and rear guards, i have had to trim the front to fit 37's with a 5 1/2 lift on mine. You may get away with not cutting in the front if you space the radius arms forward.

Best bet is to try them on and if required trim the guards where it hits.
