Gidday guy's,
Did a big trip from Cromwell to Dunedin in my Zuk a couple of weekends back and visited some outlying forestry for a pig hunt before driving home so maybe 550 kms all up.
Anyway, she was running sweet when i left but now she stalls at idle. Still runs fine when on the road but once you stop if it doesent die straight away it gurgles and splutters for a bit and then just shuts down.
All vacum hoses seem to be ok so i'm wondering where the best point is to start finding the problem? I'm guessing checking all the plugs would be up there but has anyone else had a similar issue and can recommend items to check or probable cause of the problem?
Thanks in advance

Spray some Carb cleaner through the carb with engine running, check for burnt plugs and that ht leads are good, check coil resistance's , not much apart from the carb that can go wrong, is it a manual or auto choke?

dont want to 'jinx' it but just took the dogs for a run and it seems to have just come right by itself so maybe a bit of shit in the carb?
Will give everything a check over anyway and hope it doesent come back!

just got a new set of spark plugs as the old ones looked like they had been in there for years and I've really done it now......
The thread in the number one cylinder has 'collapsed' and the spark plug cant be screwed in very far at all

. It must have already been quite fragile as i couldnt really get it in from the first attempt.
So i now have a vehicle I cant drive my question now is can the thread be re-tapped by an engineer to take the plug again if i can tow it there? or is it fu*ked?????

Crap, that is really grim! I've heard of engineers being able to fix stripped spark plug thread with helicoils. Might be cheaper to just get a new head ?

i was worried that someone might say that a new head may be the only option for it.
Pretty much havent got the cash (and possibly the experience - not sure how hard it is to replace) to spend much on it which is one of the reasons I had it for sale.
If worst comes to worst might have to flick it on to someone who can fix it and loose a few hundy
