Hi guys

I have received my 1966 landrover the other week and have had it in the shed doing some body work on it. anyway took it out for a drive and there is violent shaking from the front once the clutch is nearly released to move forward. once you get going the rest of the gear changing is fine. any ideas about where to start looking. I have looked at engine mounts etc. there has been a new front shaft put in and new universals joints as well. any help appreciated.

doesnt sound good, but then again I havent met a landrover yet that didnt have at least a slight case of parkinsons.....

just an un-educated guess but it sounds like there could be an imbalance in the flywheel/clutch setup .... ?

take it down to a (friendly) mechanic who wont charge you for it, chuck it up on the hoist so the wheels are off the ground and see if it still does it / where its coming from...

thanks for that, I will take it to my mate on friday and see if he can locate it, I initaly though a thrust being problem. as it is right at the end of the pedal movement.

Possibly loose or broken springs on the clutch plate itself

Contaminated clutch lining or the fly wheel needs a skim.

The series 1 does the same thing, just don't slip the clutch, get off it and get moving straight away
