The best and worst bullbar thread.

Post by petefj40 »

I take my hat off to anyone that can make up a bull bar themselves.

But to make one that looks good? i believe it's almost an art form or form of art. But some look so crap it makes you wonder how they came up with it. lol

A bullbar is a bullbar, its for protection, mounting winches, mounting implements. Who gives two shits if its 'ulgy' in YOUR opinion. People that make them themselves, obviously make it because they want to, or for a specific purpose. Not everyone is a jig welding computer system.

Hi Daniel.

Who said the bull bar I pictured was, 'ugly'? It's different, that's all.
And what makes you think I would want to complain about your reply?

This is a public forum. It's not just about MY opinion. It's a thread started for EVERYONES opinion. :D

Maybe i read it wrong.

No worries.

It's interesting looking at different bull bars.
Some look like the shit but when you get close they don't look meaty enough to take the punches. And some look like ugly but are built strong as.

This threads to show em.

With an appendage like that hanging off the front of your truck it tells me "I wish I had a big cock instead of looking like a big cock" but its a jeep thing

I like those amircan style Pre-runner bars but they dont provide the protection needed for bouncing off trees and banks like here in NZ, that one on the Jeep... WTF!

Here's a wee project I've got on the go at the moment, love them or hate them I think they'll look pretty good on the 40!!!

If anybody thinks my D shackle mounts may come under scrutiny during a WOF, seeing they are protruding let me know there is still time to make changes, heads for paint Monday

Now that is the 1st sensible unit in this thread. Good wheel approach, protects the rad and looks to be tucked in fairly tight. The only thing with this one is that the main hoop is not quite high enough (I have the same issue with mine). It should be above the bonnet line in case of a total flop.

Cheers Rok, yes the hoop inst as high as it should of been but i farked up with the tube notching and it ended up this height so bugger, and the approach angle is the best i could get with having to move my rad about 60-90mm forward.
