Pajero Diesel Motor

Hello,
I have a '92 Pajero 2500 diesel. Does anybody know of any other Mitsubishi diesel motors that will fit this Pajero without any modification.

Why do you want to change, I take it yours is the turbo 2.5 (4d56 engine) ?

The 2.8 is another option, but will possibly require a change of bell housing, and the factory ones had a 30mm bodylift to cope with the extra height of the engine/trans

Hi,

I have a severe oil leak which looks like it is coming from a worn balance shaft seal. Apparantly I have to remove the engine to replace the seal. Seeing as I was going to take the engine out anyway I was looking at potentially replacing with a newer motor.
I believe the 4D55/56 was used in several other Mitsubishi cars apart from the Pajero. I'm quite happy with the 2.5 motor, if I new what other cars used the same motor it would broaden my options on what to look for in the local ads.
