Storing a Motor

Post by Pete »

Hi All,

I have a spare 70 series that has a 3b motor.
Its a good motor. It looks asthough its going to be sitting for a long whiile. Do I need to do anything to it ? I was able to start and run it previously but as I rob bits off the truck its getting harder to be able to run it.

I am going to drain the radiator and i guess the diesel will go off. The truck is garaged.

Cheers,

Pete

Keep it dry.

Leave the oil and diesel in it, drain the water.

Plug the inlet and exhaust to keep out foreign matter

Keep it off direct contact with the ground (eh Wopass  )

Turn it over a couple of times a year

Should be sweet as.
