My 1990 2.8 hilux doesn't buzz when you leave the lights on which is a real pain. Is it possible its meant to but the buzzer is broken or do they all not buzz?

mine does, 90 petrol

my prado did and it drove me nuts, i pulled the plug on it or pulled a fuse or something, it can be reversed hopefully

pretty sure my 93 surf 2.8 doesn't

but could be wrong

My 94 surf does.

The Jap imports sometimes use the same buzzer for lights and speedo warning at 100... So owners who pull the buzzer for the 100 warning then loose the lights on warning too.

Righto, lets try this again. Anyone out there got a NZ new 2.8 hilux 4x4 UTE (not a surf or a prado or a landcruiser etc) that has a buzzer when you leave the lights on?

Its not a standard factory fitment but can be added without any drama

I've owned 3, 94,96,98 and none of them did. I think you can add it though.

Just put a relay in and wire it so the lights are off when the key is out. ie use the acc or on circuit to trigger the lights to be able to work. Works well and doesn't bug the shit outta you.
The two subarus I've had have been like that and its great to know you can't leave your lights on.

or buy the headlight reminder kit from dick smith or jaycar..

I have a 2001 3ltrD NZ new hilux and it doesn't buzz

My old 95 nz new hilux ute didnt have one.

Our 1993 Hilux 2.8 doesn't buzz
