Nissan Terrano Speedo problem

Post by monstr »

Hi People,My daughter has a 91 terrano auto TD2.7.the speedo reads faster than actual speed reads 70 when in fact your doing 50 ,have tried swapping the dash cluster twice with another that is known to work ,have also swapped the sender /drive unit that goes on the box and have now run out of ideas.another recent fault is the taco reads 4000rpm when the key is turned off but returns to zero when turned on and reads the right rpm when running anyone have any clues? ,Cheers

Hi Steve,
Did the other clusters have the same issue with tacho?
I have seen one on TM in the last couple of days doing the same thing. I noticed on the same listing that the speedo was sitting on 20kph too. The fuel and temp needles were at the bottom so ignition was off.

I know this doesn't help, but shows how common it maybe.
There is different speedo drives to suit the different diff ratios too
Sux for RUC as well.
At least mine reads under. :D
I keep looking for the loose nut behind the wheel, but I can't find it!!
