well, more work was needed to be done so i threw more cash at the ole girl!
The Auto had been shifting poorly even thou it was fully rebuilt 18 mths ago.... so decided to remove it and inspect. turns out i had a bit of h20 in the oil from a recent drowning, but the convertor was also giving greif. i sent the convertor up to auto Trans in Auckland to be beefed up, they had a good turn-around service (big ups!!) and from my initial drive it is a lot better, shifts are more precise, the lock up works well, and it doesn't labour down low in the revs like it used to.... we made up new transfer and auto breather pipes, so hopefully it wont ingress water again if i get carried away at the river
while the auto was out i looked at the front hubs again as i still had a leak even thou i had recently rebuilt it... turns out the spindle was shagged. so a new one of those from Terrain tamer and it all was going back together nicely until i noticed the drive flanges were rooted. so i have fit a set of AVM manual hubs and i cant wait to see how it goes on longer trips in 2wd.. (well, poor mans 2wd lol)
man i should really just get some sleep lol
