Noisy front end possibly hubs and needle bearing- Terrano

Post by vandewc »

I have had trouble finding a very loud rattling noise of metal when I drive along. The noise gets louder over bumps.
The spline on one side is very loose through the wheel bearing.
I took the AVM hub to bits to find the spacer in the spline collar/cog had broken into a thousound pieces as had the race that fits into the bolt on section of the AVM hub.

Q- Do AVM hubs come with a circlip to hold the end of the spline hard up against the collar/cog of the AVM hub?

Q-Is it difficult to replace the needle bearing on the back of the slpine before it reaches the CV?

Thanks
