33" tyres fit on LN130 Surf with no lift?

Need new tyres asap. Got 16x10 -44 offset rims and wanted to go with 33's but currently have no lift. Will they rub at all? If so how bad?

Yes , they will rub quite badly on the firewall seam behind the front wheels,
A 2inch body or suspension lift plus hammering the seams is required to fit 33's unless you want to cut/weld

Thanks for the help, what's the cost of a 2" body lift and 2" suspension lift? Don't have the know how or tools to do it myself.

both are easily done at home
either buy a bodylift kit from trademe or buy the parts individually,bear in mind you might need a cert after body-lift. depends on where you go for a WOF.
Keep an eye on trademe for suspension lift kits

Is it true that other mods are needed to fit a body lift? (Extend brakes lines, etc..)

Is that required even if it's only 2"s?

whats meant here by steering extension? and anyone done this on an auto? ref adjusting gear selector mods.

just undo the gear selector nut before you start the lift. then tighten it up once finished
steering extension is a block that goes in your steering arm that makes up the lift gap

you undo the nuts on the steering sleeves, and move the steering arm collars upwards.

cheers, all makes sense. thort it would go in there. got a 2nd gen 95 so dont need 1.

i put 33 bighorns (which are a pretty big 33) on my standard ride height ln130 a while ago, did some gentle massaging of the seam on the firewall and a little on the bottom rear corner of the frontgaurd and it doesnt rub whatsoever and retains a nice low centre of gravity... easy and free!
