Hi,
How about a Lockright much better traction than an LSD.

See link http://www.offroadexpress.co.nz/Forums/viewtopic.php?f=64&t=19572

Cheers

How do you figure that? They unlock automatically so on the road there should not be any excess wear on the tyres. Toyota lsd's are not known for quality, they may last a couple of trips but after that you'll need to tighten them again. Would go the lockright, you'll struggle to get it any cheaper than suzolla

  where did you get that info from? surfs don't have factory locker, only f@#fed lsd,s

(Some overseas models did have factory electric locker but they are rarer than hens teeth and they don't wear out tyres because they are selectable)

I have a very good mate who has immigrated from south africa, and had a SSR-X "raider" over there (which is just a IFS hilux equivalent) but what the SSRX Raider has over the normal models is a factory locker, which is vacuum powered. Remember - sth Africa makes their own Toyota's (they do import some) but a great many Toyo's are made their and exported around the globe...

you can buy them too.

note the bit that says "1988-1995 Toyota 4Runner with 3.0 V6"

which is our hilux surf ssrx

That website is for a ring and pinion, not a locker.
Also your quote is incorrect, the factory locker (not available here) are electric. not vacuum
Also the "1988-1995 Toyota 4Runner with 3.0 V6" is referring to the american market vehicle.

I stand by my original post, you can't just " go find the diff head out of a 1990 SSR limited V6 surf. factory locker. " as the surfs we have a jap imports and don't have the factory locker.

Yes but everything has factory lockers over there, Mazda Bounty's, Bt50's, Ford Rangers, Isuzu Rodeo etc, most of the utes are only 2WD but they still have factory lockers!!!
SWB V6 Paj with one or two mods ;)
