nissan terrano more power

hi im new here, just wanted to know how do i go about getting more power out of my 1988 nissan terrano its the 3litre V6 also the tappets are lil noisey.
Finely tune it, run it on 95 or 98 octane. You could go the whole hog, pull it apart and get it ported and polished. Do some maintence, run good oil and get those tappets fixed. You could try a new exhaust to give a little more back pressure.
