As the title says whats a good size for a snorkel on a truboed td42?
Am thinking around the four inch dia.

Currently got an early model safari snorkel on it and can't help think it to small.

What size is inlet pipe on the manifold?? As long as the snorkel is large than the intake pipe then it won't restrick airflow.

I'm doing a 3" snorkel on a mates safari, I think that's big enough, The bends are made with flow in mind so not to tight...

Short to medium 3 inch is ok, use 4 inch for longer.

Warren is right.

The longer the intake the bigger the diameter is needed to get the same amount of air through. This is simple fluid dynamics. Basically take the factory inlet size and add an inch for a normal length snorkel.

A TD42 with 20psi boost takes about 900 to a 1000cfm to run.

crossover pipe from turb to inlet is 63mm and from air box, which is behind left front headlight,to turbo is 75mm.

Was wrong bout type of snorkel its an airflow.
then going from there am going to put new snorkel so it runs as the exsisting one does

I use ti have an Airflow snorkel and when standard it was fine and was still ok turboed. Once I intercooled and increased boost there was a noticeable difference when disconnecting it. (take lid of aircleaner off)
