Today a friend of a friend on here replaced the exhaust to a 2-1/2 inch straight from the turbo with a medium sized muffler, the one taken out was massive compared to the one that is in it now.

Very happy :D :D a noticable different in pick up, and sounds mean as.

spent the day building extactors for the rover, 4 x 1 5/8 into 2.5" system 2 into one, got both sides all tacked together and then one side fully welded and ground back, and put in place, may be able to get other welded and done as well tomorrow, then build the remainder of the system, am using a 2.5' M&H muffler, anyone ever used one of these?

You are most welcome :D
Had one of the best days ever up there too.
The new tracks and the work done to old tracks were awesome.
Shame to cut a few of them up again though.
I never seen it so sticky.
Only had to winch myself twice
Saw some local Muppet's there and watched them run over their own grill and right head light. Sure they got to the top, but at what cost :?:
I keep looking for the loose nut behind the wheel, but I can't find it!!

I agree with you Sibainmud the graded tracks were awesome and also the new tracks, but I do have to point out I did go when it was dry so it was not a struggle.

Hey andy3542,

Would be keen but there are things I need to attend to on my truck that I have neglected, plus I dont like going to Woodhill when it is pouring down with rain.

Went for a skid up Odlins Road with my mate in his Rugger and my Terrano, had a ball bounced off a few rocks, didn't quite make it to the green hut, ran out of time! Was impressed how our little trucks went up some of this climbs!

Sure made a mess of it, but they were all young fullas and looked like they were enjoying themselves with big grins. Better they do it at the park.

Passed them wobbling their way home.

The rain made the new clay bits fairly greasy, especially up the top where Roger came close to arsing over with the excavator.

The big grins were half the fun and the other half was the 8% RTD's they were guzzling (except for the driver)
They were totally under the influence
Was the most greasy i have ever seen it
I saw that hill from the bottom.....bloody hell :!:

Great new tracks. Can't wait to map them out in my mind.

Now that you mention it I was surprised how many empties there were lying on the track edges all around the park. Drinking and 4 wheeling seems to be part of the game for many these days. There is no attempt to prevent it from management and as patrollers we clubbies have no authority to enforce rules (not that I'd want to get into a bust-up with a bunch of drunken louts in the middle of a forest).

Sooo, what happens when someone injures their self and the 4WD community end up in the press because they were all drunk and in the park? Who is liable, the park management or the patrollees?

I am reposting this in the safety forum.

a zero tollerance policy is needed as when we do what we do we are not always in the vehicle and the driver is not the only person who needs coherance.

Bit off topic I see there is a dog in the pic are they allowed in the park? Just curious as was keen to go up and let the dog have a run around at the same time.

No, there is a prohibition I think. There are bird nesting sites along Muriwai Beach that fronts the park.

If that was the case ^^^^ then check the council by-laws, dogs are allowed on Muriwai from the lifeguard tower north and don't even have to be on a lead.
http://www.arc.govt.nz/parks/our-parks/before-you-go/dogs-in-parks.cfm
Though this is not the actual by-law, i have looked it up on more than one occasion.
Even so, heaps of dogs are taken up to Woodhill areas that aren't meant for recreational activities (motor bikes, 4wd's, horses)
I was going to address this sooner or later. I have gained prior permission from management to have my dog with me as long as she is under constant control. My dog being the Doberman.
The other dog was with some guys that came up from the Waikato and didn't know of the regulations. The photo you see was the 2nd run out of the truck for the whole day and she spends most of it confined to the truck for her own protection.
Cheers,
