When looking at a 1996 discovery 3.9L V8, is the LHS and RHS cylinder bank viewed from the front of the engine, or the back? This changes the firing order...

I think I may have got my V8 running with the incorrect firing order :?

All LH & RH for motor vehicles are taken from the forward facing seating position, sorry can't help with the firing order but on a lot of vehicles it's on the manifold. With a V8 there is one cylinder on one bank slightly a head of the other, this is #1.

Looking from the Radiator into the engine bay, 1 is on your right hand side and the firing order is 1-8-4-3-6-5--7-2

I got court out 180 degree one time I removed all the leads and dizzy without marking everything

If you PM me I can email a photo of my Dizzy in place with the firing order on the leads :D

Cheers

Thanks for clearing that up. I had done it incorrect. I think iv got the firing order correct now. It seems to idle ok but there is some other issue which im not sure about which causes it to cut out when i turn the throttle even the slightest bit...
