Nah Ive been pritty much out of luck at the moment but i did get my diesel appreniceship in taupo this week

and a flat

, the trucks been parked up at home for past 2 weeks with the plastic cover on the snorkel but some how water has got in the snorkel, started it up this morning and didnt think to check it and then a bang nosie form inside the motor then stalled and wont turn over. I should have hurried up and made the water catch box for it........

had a bloody good day wheeling out. Met a few guys off the forums. Found some awesome tracks. No one really broke anything. Nearly had a hydrauliced Suzuki. But it was alright in the end.
Looking at doing another exploration day round the dome and another at one of the roads we found that has a couple of loops in it.
So you want to drive these tracks?
better join Norwest OHV then

Left home at 4.30am Yesterday to go on the benefit run through the Waiouru Military grounds for the Christchurch relief fund with a number of ORE members,
Big snafu for a few people was the only garage in Waiouru was closed for renovations and there was no fuel, meaning people had to drive 20 minutes to fill up,
After a delayed drivers briefing we were off down the dusty access tracks to see the sights, The ORE crew bringing up the rear, after hours of driving very dusty loose metal tracks we ended up 1400 m above the base at the Engineers monument with a breath taking view of the area, after some lunch we headed off to look at the dam then finally onto a muddy play area, only problem was the play area was designed for Unimogs and tanks! not Safari's and 80's on 33's Many tried but none succeeded getting through. after numerous broken shear pins and bunt out winch solenoid's and recoveries we called it a day just after 4pm,
Even though I was in 2wd most of the day the event was for a good cause and raised somewhere around $9000 for CHCH and the scenery for this northland boy was worth the lack of 4wd time alone.
Winched badnuz out of the bog then he turned around and promptly ........ but he bribed me with a ARB sticker so the second bit didn't happen
then Rob(mudnutz) had to pull my sorry a$$ off a rather large rock that some thoughtless person had left in a middle of a river, I tell you who does things like that, leaving boulders in rivers sheese Big thanks also to Skid for getting wet hooking on the snatch strap
*todays job, remove trailing arm and straighten, and dry out carpets*
Excellent day and it was really good to put faces to so many ORE names, you guys are NUTS!!!

*edit*
Sunday remove badly bent steering arm, what a bloody mission getting it out as it was so bent it was hitting the sump and that had been bashed in an inch as well, (at least it's only going to take 9 litres of oil next oil change instead of 10) after lots of swearing and cursing got it out and straightened it, drained 1/2 litre of water from the lhf hub and repacked the wheel bearing, noticed front brakes down to 1mm so next weekends job will be to fit new pads.

degreased the engine in the 130 to try find oil leak, learnt that you are not to do this while the engine is running otherwise that shit will catch on fire

friken shat myself, lucky i was right by the hose..
wont do that again, theory was to keep it hot to keep moisture out..

Well today I put in my Airlocker with a big thanks to sibainmud

who actually put in the airlocker unit in the diff housing and set it up to get correct backlash and preload and all that as in picture below

Here is the old LSD

it had brown foam oil coming out which my friend Ben told me it was old and it was
getting hot.
A big thanks goes to him for letting me borrow his tools it is impressive what you can achieve with
the right gear, makes things so much easier.
Then gave the diff a bit of a clean before I put the airlocker back in

here

I here it is all completed.
I also had the help of Hilux Dan with lifting the diff head onto the diff that diff head is not light I tell you.

Over all this was a time consuming job it was a very successful installation of the airlocker and
pleased of how it went I had a quick test and engaged and disegaged whitout a problem.
So I would like to thank all that helped on this it was much appreciated so big ups from me
So bring on Woodhill Yeah.
Cheers
Ruben

Added a little style to the Disco
Went to Supercheap with my weekly allowance (cheers Wifeey) and got me a mesh sheet for a cover to be made for the snorkel head, ended up doing the grill and never got around to do the snorkel. Went for a BBQ at friends, so missed finishing it off properly.
I think it's come up trumps, so did my little helper

Couple of pics for a looks-see.......
