I know there is a couple of topics regarding this but they don't quite answer my question
I'm doing the manual locking hub conversion on my landcruiser prado and having a bit of trouble deciding what grease to use with my new wheel bearings.I see marine grade is probley the best as i will be doing the odd water crossing,But most of the marine grade greases i find are designed for trailor bearings and don't state vehicles. Is this the type? and where should i buy some?repco and supercheap didn't seem to stock much
Cheers
Rob
What grease?
Re: What grease?
Cant help on what type but ive found the Butlers on Stammore Rd have a good selection of grease...i got some rubbergrease there a cpl of weeks ago...wasnt able to find it anywhere else
Re: What grease?
I use CV grease from BNT in my hubs, i've heard marine grease is too thick and heats up too much when used at high speed
1996 3.4V6 Surf that was suppose to stay stock

EP2
Re: What grease?
I don't think you should have to worry about waterproof grease, water shouldn't be in there anyway

If that's the sticky orange one then that's what I use for almost everything. A little bit dearer but well worth the money.

Re: What grease?
EP2 is just a classification of grease and most manufacturers make it, there may be small variances between them such as the Moreys MOREYS MOLY COMPLEX EP2 GREASE which has 3% molybdenum disulphide for protection against sliding friction wear, but Moreys also do another EP2 called MOREY’S SUPER RED
