I assume you've tried Gee's? Pretty sure he could get them easily enough last time I asked (but pricey iirc).
I've been looking out for some 4.3s for a while and they only come up occasionally (unless of course you want to buy whole cars).

if you want a 4.3 ratio try and find a 2104 lada car.apparently they bolt straight in.

The entire range of ratios are a straight swap between the rear drive cars and the Nivas.

Hi guy's, Thanks for your reply's,
sorry, I've been reading these as they come up but not been round enough to reply to each individually, Using diff for lada car isn't much help for John, it's a front diff he's after...

Rear diff assembly fits in the front. Same thing.

He's having problems with cracking mounts and casings, (also not allowed to do steelcase front diff in the class he's currently in...)

No, didn't mean the case - the innards all transfer from rear to front, and vice-versa. Is he allowed to alloy weld on strengthening ribs? They probably break in much the same place every time?

Hoodoo.

I think hoodoo is saying is he allowed to fill all the gaps in between the ribs with alloy weld as this adds a lot of strength to the casing.

No he cant. In A class you can modify inside axle housings/diffs (ie run aftermarket axles/cvs and change gear ratios) but cannot strengthen externally.

Thanks for your help guys, nope he can't alter the housing in any way, last time I talked to him he was trying to make up a cradle to support it a bit better...
I'll cheak with him how he got on and see if I can get some pics of what he achieved.

Various people have made cradles that link between the front crossmember and the anti-roll bar, usually when fitting different engines. I think Baxter has details on his site?
