Re: hilux suspension upgrade for use with winch????
OME just do the front to begin with as the after market stuff all come with about 20% increase in weight allowance and a bit of a lift as well
you might find that with new gear in the front it will now sit level rather than having the the back sitting high due to no real extra weight being put on it
if the truck is sittng nice then maybe just replace the rear shocks
the older softer springs will give more articulation and combined with new shocks this will help stop axle bounce etc
Just my thoughts

OME are distributed by ARB in NZ, at least that's where I got my kit from. Cheers

Yeah sorry about that ARB are the dealers
good chaps at the north shore branch hill side road glenfeild
otherwise the local ARB dealer
all there prices are just about the same thu
its always interesting when you do a pricing exercise with the states and see what the real price should be verses what the dealers here charge.
pity cause the OME stuff is "IMYO" good stuff just a bit pricy
mind you as the saying goes "you gets what yous pays for" ah
cheers

We fitted OME springs to our 1991 Hilux, well worth what you pay for, but since the suspension carry load is increased, as you would expect the ride will become harsher. But as others said go for a trusted brand that offers a warranty and is well known.

Couldnt agree more with the good comments on the OME gear, I love it in my Surf.
Truth is it wasnt as expensive as many think, I compared three brands and these were the rankings from cheapest to most expensive (excluding installation which was the same regardless):
Iron Man $1550
OME $1700
EFS $1850
This was for 4 shocks (front and rear)
2 springs
2 Torsion bars
1 Steering damper
I know the above doesnt apply necessarily to a Hilux (torsion bars etc) but it gives you an idea of price comparison.
Cheers
