Offroad-Express

Hi
I am a Niva enthusiast from Belgium and I'm visiting NZ hopefully sometime next week.
I was wondering if I could hitch a ride as copilot in a niva on a 4x4 trip to see the offroad side of NZ.
I have experience in 4x4 and on the niva so I might be of some use if anything goes wrong (which never happens when your driving a niva ).

I'm starting in Auckland where I hope to buy a car and then I'll be backpacking from there on.

My stay in NZ will be anywhere between 1 and 3 months, and I'll be travelling from north all the way south.

So if there are any niva owners who are willing to take me along in the niva for some (heavy) offroad fun please let me know.

may i suggest don't just limit yourself to rides in ladas that way i'm sure you will get more offers

I was not planning on to, but a guy has to dream BIG!
I have deen driving a Niva for 6 years and have owned several for 8.
So it's my first choice.
If I can't get a ride in a Niva I will look for lesser alternatives.

What needs to be done to get yours running?

Ummm... Brakes, fuel sender and exhaust.

Oh and maybe check the front hubs too.

Hopefully I will get the exhaust done this friday. Unless it rains again.
