i am looking to do a coil spring conversion on my 70 series landcruiser. its an 86 BJ74 Mwb

i wanted to know if anybody out there who has done it before can give me a few tips ect.

i am an engineer so will be doing all welding and machining myself

i wanted to know what vehicles people had used to get the coil springs and spring mounts from, wheather to make trailing arms or get them off another vehicle and where do i mount the shock absorbers as mine are attached to the leaf spring set up

What are you planning on doing with the truck? (IE, bush truck or road legal)
Are you planning on using the std Diffs?
Dont fark around cutting mounts off a coiled vehicle if youre an engineer make up your own (wish I had from the start), you can use any springs you want. Im using std patrol fronts an 80 series rears.

wanting a road legal truck and will be using standard diff housings but will be putting new diff heads in, still unsure if i wana go for air locks or factory e locks

to fit factory E-locker you need to mod the diff housing so still a bit of work, I have e-locker in the rear of mine and arb in the front. The big difference is the arb is fast on and off, just hit the button and go. I find the e-locker slow to put in and take out. sometimes need to give the truck a little zig zag to unload the locker or it won't unlock straight away. I find it nice to be able to get the steering back after a hazard, not to bad if rear is in but doesn't turn well with the front in.
