1kz-te wont rev

Hi iv'e got 1kz-te in a project and got it running today 
but it only runs at an idle and wont rev up on the pedal.I see a dent in the tin cover on throttle position bizzo on the shaft that used to have the butterfly on,would this have killed it.Motor was originaly in a kzn130.Have removed egr stuff but done nothing with the original connector plugs.Any help appreciated,thanks Mike.
