So, does anyone have one.. and if so.. is it any good in the rough stuff.

Looking at getting the 2.5 Diesel Double Cab version and lifting etc. Are these monocoche or ladder chassis ?

Interested in comments really.

Thanks

I'm pretty sure they would suit a SAS quite nicely... aparently they're pretty peppy for a small diesel and have a drivers side output for the front diff, so a Hilux axle would be an easy fit.

Robbie had one from memory... (4X4ROB) - he might be a good source of info on them.

hi my first 4wd is a mazda proceed cab plus run 32's wrangler muds 16 inch not the standred 15 s the front bumper tooka pounding and the rear tray valance got bent out to 90 decrees a bit more hight is needed, run the whanga road got stuck once. the transmission mount is the one to get you hung up lifting the body will stop some body damage but over ramp angle is not good, they are good offroad but more suited as a farm ute than a full bore offroader

HI,

I have a 2003 bounty (same thing) with 150km on it now as my work truck. Great on the road, the wee diesel pulls really well once you have boost, below 1700 rpm, you can get caught with nothing.

They have a seperate chassis, wheel travel is very average but it has a real good limited slip. I am sure it'd travel alot better with a few leaves removed in the back, rides rock hard when empty.

Mine has 30's (yes they still make tyres that small Steve) on it, 31's would not fit without a lift, and modification of the front bumper (read trim, cut etc!). Torsion bar front, easily lifted.

We have one in the club - it gets most places on normal trips, just a little bit harder on the twisty stuff. Something worth mentioning is the intercooler at the front, It hangs down very low, and the only protection for it is the lowest part on the plastic bumper. !st thing to do would be some sort of protection.
