Calibrated Map download tool

Stumbled across a cool bit of software on the net tonight.
For those map / GPS geeks this will be right up your alley.

Above is an application which can import calibrated maps from internet sources (Google maps etc etc) into many different formats.
I use Oziexplorer and used to screen grab maps (particularly satellite) and then manually calibrate them.
Well this one does it all for you.
Tell it what format you want, then load up the maps you want to copy, select the zoom level you want to grab then it pulls in the tiles and joins them to produce a geo referenced map of your choice.

Great for planning a trip into a specific area, get real good detail.
Some of the places I have been going, you can see the puddles in the paddocks. (well at-least when the photo was taken.)

What a great find and with huge potential. It seems that since your post, most of the common map sourses (eg Google Earth)have been removed due to license/access issues. A real shame that! Thanks for the post though. Rog

Just checked mine again and still works just fine, grabbed some satellite stuff from Taupo..And Aussie

Using Google Earth... Converting to Ozi maps.

I am using 1.9 Beta 1 version...

Reading the site, the version I have has been removed and replaced. Due potential copyright issues..

any chance you can pass on the beta 1 as beta 2 doesn't support a lot of map makers.. ie google maps etc.. beta 1 does..? going by ur post.. would be great to have..cheers
