Driver Lock on 92 Terrano

Post by parriehunter »

Hey I have a 92 Terrano and the drivers door can't be locked or unlocked with the key.

I have taken the door skin off and can now see that there is a bit of plastic off the back of the lock mechanism that has broken off something else.

Does anyone know how to fix this, it is driving me nuty having to open the passengers door.

theres a little yellow clip that the rod from the lock goes through and these are known to break ive just changed both of mine in my 94 terrano , drivers and passengers , went to nissan 4 bucks a side cheap as chips , they dont come with the little grey slide that goes through the middle to seperate the clip . they are a bit of a bitch to change clip on the rod first then big white plastic thing then rod thorugh the whole lot to finish

there should be a rod that comes off the back of the lock barrel , it does a 90 degree turn and goes down then theres a big while plastic thing and the little yellow thing , the yellow thing clips on to another rod and drives all the lock mechs , yeah its confusing even to me , id say if you went into nissan and said i want the little yellow thing that breaks in terrano doors and stops the locks from working they would know what you were talking about .

Yea I have had to order the part from Nissan, and I had a better look at it last night and can see how it all attaches now. should have the part next week, can't wait to be able to unlock from the drivers side.
