Hi everyone,

Im new to the forum and so far have enjoyed reading through all the posts. Its really great to hear what people are doing and reading through all the interesting information you have here.

I have to confess, im not a serious 4wd'er, I spend most my time hunting but we do get into a bit of mud from time to time (more often intentionally) and i love it.

For the past year I have had a 91 suzuki escudo which has been a great little vehicle but it just doesn't have the room for all my gear and dog etc so thats why I decided to upgrade.

I've just bought a 2002 mitsi triton dble cab 4wd and im just wondering what everyones thoughts are on them. Have many people used them for 4wding before?

welcome to the site hunter, no i carnt say ive seen that many 4wding around. would be a perfect truck for what you want to do.. i have seen one on trademe a while back that was set up for off road use. had a winch 31" tyres and 50mm lift. i like them quite abit think there a realy good looking truck and i havnt heard any horra storys about them i had a pajero b4 my surf and the old mans got a challenger and we've had no major problems part from i blow my head gasket on the old pajero but hey, still went places !

im sure that it would be prettie good off road not the best but your not going to be using for purely off road use so..

HI,
Our work had Mitsi's then switched to Mazda. A Workmate had a 03 Sport and I had a 03 Mazda Bounty. Any excuse for me to have his for the day I would, it rode so much nicer than the mazda, was real quiet on the road (mind you it was the V6).

I like my petrol motors but I will say the Mazda was better with a couple of ton on the back.

AND the mitsi has the handbrake in the proper place!

Thanks for the comments so far, its certainly nice to hear positive feedback about the Triton.

DJ: The lock on the triton was certainly one thing I noticed when i first test drove one, especially after driving a 3 door suzuki which can just about turn itself inside out!

Comfort was one of the main reasons I went for the triton. I've always liked hilux's but just couldn't justify the price of them for such an uncomfortable and noisy truck. Don't get me wrong though, they are good reliable trucks.

I was hoping to get this for the triton but missed out when it was relisted :(
