cut front guards
before

after

got hold of the epoxy and a microfibre filler, so stripped the door, sand blasted the areas i wanted to epoxy and then packed as much as i could in, you can only access the top of the arch and the lower front of the arch,

Image

i left it over night and then cut the door this mornnig
Image

as you can see the epoxy was in two places, so once i had he desired profile in the door both inner and outer skins aligned etc i sand blasted the inner panel and mixed up more paste and forced it into place
Image

then left this and continued to cut the rear panel and inner door frame

Image

ti have folded the rear panel and door frame over about 15mm right angle fold, my intent is to mount the rubber conveyor rubber off this fold, but are also looking at bolting a bit of flat bar to rear panel and welding to door frame to hold the rubber and also to put a bit more strength into that area,
Image

one side down other side to go.

seems very effective way to cut the panel, a bit of mucking around stripping but not having to fold ali and steel and attach to each other seems to be a bonus

Looks better with the guards cut for sure 8) When I cut my guards I purchased some flare strips from these guys.....

http://www.basisnz.co.nz/product.pasp?c ... ductid=408

You can get it by the meter and it attaches straight to the side of panel.

looked at these strips and they are not wide enough 8) , i need about 110-120mm to cover the tire, these are only 58mm

got into the other side today and sandblasted the interior of the door and using the epoxy filler mix i packed it full of epoxy, and now i have templates from the other side markedthe panel out and cut away with the slitting disk,
folded the edge up and also the inner door frame edge,

before

Image

as far as i can go until the epoxy sets.

Image

photo taken from a distance, not very happy with the front guard cut, but the side bars and flares will cover the f**-up

Image

may also have to adjust the spring seat, bring the front down or lift rear, have to get it on the flat to figure it out.
