YO,folks :D ,
time to change oil in my 73 series LC (4,2d man) gear box, transfer case and axles(not LSD).
thinking to use valvoline HP gear oil 80W90 everywhere,as recommended by valvoline
http://www.datateck.com.au/lube/valv_auMS/default.asp

however i know Toyota dealerships use Castrol,
castrol recommend MUltritrax(or VMX or Syntrax) for gear box and transfer case
and EPX80w90 for diffs
http://www.datateck.com.au/lube/castr_nz/default.asp

I mean its more conveniet to have one oil for everything, for this reason i'd prefer Valvoline, but what about quality/performance?

is Castrol any better since it is Toyota's choice?

also is there anybody using ELF oil for transmission?any good?
cheers

I use Elf oils in everything and ive found them very good and never had any problems, also the price and service from the Guys at Elf here in Chch are very good were as mobil and castrol were hopeless.
