Hey guys I'm looking at buying a 70 series cruiser, just wondering what the opinions and experiences are on SWB and MWB trucks? I'll hopefully get the 3.4 diesel. cheers!

MWB looks cooler

theyve got quite a bit extra cargo space behind the rear seats an have a Fibreglass roof so slightly less steel to rust out,
watch out for ones with higher ks as I found out my one shit itself an blew holes in the pistons 2 days after I bought it (I believe the injectors were leaking)

Still drove it round for 4 months after that tho. Motor still ran when I took it out

I would go MWB. A bit better up hills etc, but not so long you get bellied out at the top

and if you do go with the 3.4, make sure you get the one with the turbo (13BT) coz its soooooooo much better than not having one

Yea the MWB is a way better length for off-roading and as others have said they have a bit more room and the fiberglass top so prob wont be any heavier, and def get the 13BT turbo version as they have enough balls for general use, the engine is made by Hino industries and was designed to run refridgeration units so is normally very reliable and bullet proof.
If you are lucky you might even find one with factory front and rear lockers

MWB for sure as the shorty is just too short..

+ be aware that they are a little tippy on the side..

never had a problem with mine tho..

and you'll be limited to suspension upgrades etc.. BUT they are very reliable if you get a good one..

the length difference is a MASSIVE 12 inches. As far as better at climbing hills goes. its how you pedal it.
I'd have a swb as it doesnt have the ugly and heavier than steel fiberglass bit.

And 12 inches makes a HUGE difference esp when climing hills.
Or better again just buy a safari and you get the superior coil setup, more stability and on average a better alround truck at the end of the day.
