sure do will be down in southland as usual. The morning on the pond and the afternoon on the stubble paddock. Best part is my new Benelli m2, can't wait to put it through it's first season.

All set to go , well almost, all ways the last minute things to do, I have got the week off and will be camping out at the Lake ( Ellesmere ) for the first week. This year I am leaving my old 12g at home and will try out the Remington 1100 20g that i purchased during the year, get away from STEEL SHOT and get some more

all set, have two mai mais this year to shoot from. have brought my young fella a 410 single shot to get him going. all batteries are charged for the robo ducks. and gear is all laid out in the shed ready to go. even have a new Hammond caller coming this week. everyone have a safe and enjoyable opening weekend, Don't want to hear about any accidents on Monday

nah giving it a miss this season. last time i looked at our usual spot there was little to no ducks. the drought last year really hammered them and the dry spell this year would not have helped.

When shooting on the Waikato, we found that the more shooters their were, the better the bag. Lots of banging kept the ducks in the air, opening morning was a BLAST!! (pun intended) but subsequent w/es less so.

Ohhh to be back in Upper Atiamuri, chasing Californian Quail!!!

absolutely. you really need every one out to keep the ducks up. however pre season recon showed absolutely no ducks. bit of shame as i had been given a chance to use the main dam for a change which would normally have another crowd on it who seam to fire off 15 rounds for every duck that looks at it.

even the parries where not around. however some guys got good numbers of parries on some of the farms.

its been a very good season for pheasant breeding. normally we don't shoot them as there is so few but numbers have gotten up in the last few years. hopefully there is a good sustaining population now.
