Hi Guys, been posting on here a month or so now, thought id introduce myself properly. Im 23 y/o, a motorcyle mechanic by trade, so while a spanner man, the ins and outs of 4wd geometry is new to me. (apart from quads which are simple.) I have been driving 4wds for quite a while off road, and while not a beginner, dont call myself an expert. From what ive seen in some of the build threads in here you guys know ur shit, and some should be being employed by car manufacturers R&D departments!
Down to the stuff you want to know. Ive got a toyota surf, kzn130. its got a few mods but family wagon/mrs daily driver in the weekdays so cant be too extreme with it. As much as i like to be. And shes already annoyed at having to climb into it!
2nd car is a 1972 Landrover series 2a. its quite capable, but rarely makes it out of the drive, or shed for that matter. was younger and dumber when i bought that and am stuck with it for now. and i wont even mention my daily drive. living down in pokeno atm, (but a born and bred westy!) and looking to join a club. counties is out due to being all trials guys basically. so looking at manukau, auckland or thames valley. possibly norwest ohv.(know the secretary from a while back too, if your watching Chris).

cheers,
Micah Basevi

Manukau a friendly club with all sorts of members, family's with kids, young couples and singles, middle aged couples with older children and retired people. We are in to every thing from scenic shinny trips to winch challenge. there will always be someone with similar interests to you and lots of different types of trips. Just come along to a meeting 7.30 on 1st Tuesday on the month. Ask for Richard E or Tony. Or have a look on our website a for list of trips and come along. We even have lots of land rover drivers.

A mechanical person such as youself shound grab a Prado solid axle and slot it under the front of that surf.
Keep the body as low as you can, and run some 31's - 33's (Max) to keep your mrs happy.
That makes a real good club truck and your mrs will hardly notice the difference driving it.
That way you are FUTUREPROOFED

lockers
winch
bars
blah
blah
