Gearbox fluid in TD42 Manual

I find the manual is very tight and hard to work when cold, especially to get into 2nd (1st and 3rd easyish though).

With the Bighorn I had that was also really tight I investigated and found everyone I could talk to had changed their gearbox fluid to petrol engine oil and made it really smooth, and none had had any failures - I did the same and it was great.

So the question is, do all you TD42 manual drivers use gearbox fluid (and if so what type/viscosity and how do you find it) or have you done something different?

i use castrol torque 50 which is lighter than 85/90 we use it at work in truck gearboxs so if its ok for them its fine for me have been useing for the last 2 years and no problems
