Anyone else having to wait 30-60 seconds for ORE to

Post by meece4x4 »

first load?

just lately when I select ORE from my quick links (which is the ORE Home page) I have to wait 30-60 seconds, sometime even longer for it to load or I give up and hit reload, once loaded it seems fast enough and I can navigate the forum ok, If I close ORE then go back to it within a short time it's fine ..but if i dump my cache or wait an hour or more it's back to taking forever to load.

personally I think it's a DNS resolution issue but I'm just wondering if anyone else is having the same issue or just me.

happens on every computer in the house (all 8 of them) .. the only thing's they share in common are,

1 they are all Linux Mint (but different versions from 8-11)
2 they all connect using Xnet ISP
3 It's only ORE thats slow.

It's not a biggie but it's a little frustrating at time's waiting, waiting, waiting, :D

Mine normally is 10-20 secs.
I must admit I do rely on the cache a fair bit.
I will find out as this is the last log-in till Sunday arvo.
Hope to see you over the weekend.
Cheers,
Simon.

Hey Simon,

I'll be there tomorrow at the play day and the BBQ Sat Night, cant make Whangas road unfortunately on Sunday due to work commitments :(

The Runoff we are going to is a lot of fun  and with all this rain lately, my poor whale is going to need to learn how to swim!

moving to a new server soon, should be way faster hopefully

in the final stages of transfer, speaking of which will need some testers when i get it up.

will envolve editing your host file. so google "edit host file windows" and if your comfortable with openening that up adding a space and saving (quick test to see if you can edit it) then your all good for helping test.

cheers

Wow thats a helpful comment right there, Have you ever heard of taking a concrete pill? well you need to. Just get over it all ready.

and yes I have experienced the same problem with slow loading at the beginning too. Its almost as though the internet isn't working for a while then it seems to run fine after 10 or so secs. weird technology stuff

well today I had to wait 10 seconds for it to finally open, and every so often it seems to take ages to load, but in general way quicker

Seems quicker for sure but every so often I get a '404 bad gateway' message and no ore at all?
